According to the latest report of the Jordanian times, on September 24, Jordanian garment industry representatives asked the government to reconsider including the clothing industry in the "list of industries in the hardest hit areas".

In a telephone interview, muneer deyeh, President of the Jordan textile and garment Federation, said that in May, the clothing industry was listed as "the industry in the hardest hit areas of the epidemic situation" by the government. Therefore, we hope that the government can help the industry reduce the negative impact of the epidemic by taking measures such as loans, Jordan central bank plan, liquidity inflow, tax reduction, rent reduction and tariff reduction. However, since it was included in the list in May, the only benefit of the clothing industry has been a 20% reduction in wages for workers or a half pay for workers to go home - no less than Jordan's minimum wage of 220.

Deyeh said August and September were the most difficult months in the history of the clothing industry, with sales at many stores almost zero. Without liquidity, employers will not be able to pay operating costs, wages, etc. At present, the government has not provided any clear plan to help the industry save itself.

At present, many industries, such as the clothing industry, are not on the "list of industries in the worst hit areas" and the government needs to establish a joint committee to regularly re evaluate the latest situation in the industry, labor minister nidor batayena said.

Deyeh believes that the clothing industry will benefit from the support policies of the future government if it remains in the "list of enterprises in the disaster areas". At present, the clothing enterprises lack of liquidity, the economic conditions are not good, and the sales volume is constantly falling - all these should make the clothing industry become the industry in the hardest hit areas. Without sufficient liquidity, it will be difficult for employers to pay their financial expenses and workers' wages in accordance with the law.

The garment industry representatives of qasmi and the jewelry industry in Jordan will be removed from the list of clothing industry and jewelry industry. Clothing industry is struggling, small businesses have closed down, which should be listed as the standard of the industry in the hardest hit areas.
