A few days ago, the handicraft platform Etsy set up pop-up store to hold a 3 day exhibition. More than 70 creators from France were exhibited in Paris, Lyon, Marseille, Bordeaux, Lille and Nantes.

Etsy Pierre-Louis Lacoste, head of the French district, said: "opening temporary stores online allows us to get close to our customers and understand their needs, and let more people know about this platform."

It is understood that this is not the first attempt for Etsy to open a shop.

Previously, the platform has opened several pop-up store in New York and London.

From time to time, this form of shops only exist in the streets, shopping malls and even outdoor open space for several days, weeks or up to a few months, but at present, with its unique way of operation, the overseas retail industry is defined as a new mode of creative marketing mode combined with retail stores.

Etsy also began to focus on this new model and use it to publicize its brand products.

Etsy's flash store in New York has been a great success, attracting 20 thousand customers during the 10 days of business.

Etsy has also innovating in the supply chain. In September this year, Etsy launched a manufacturing market platform for the third party manufacturers and sellers.

Manufacturers can apply for membership, but must meet all relevant requirements including pparency commitments.

Sellers can find manufacturers on the market platform and then cooperate.

It is understood that Etsy was founded in 2005 and has entered the field of vision because of its different styles of handmade ornaments.

As the team grew, the platform further developed. According to public data, the total revenue of the platform in the second quarter was US $61 million 370 thousand, an increase of 44.4% over the same period last year.

Not long ago, Amazon launched a handcraft online trading platform, Handmade, to counterbalance Etsy.
