Recently, the industry standard "leather shoes", which was presided over by the Wenzhou Quality Inspection Institute, was approved by the Ministry of industry and information technology of China (2015 No. sixty-third).

The standard will be implemented in March 1, 2016 to replace the original standard QB/T 1002-2005 "leather shoes".

Wenzhou quality inspection institute responsible person introduced that the original standard has made the significant contribution for the profession development, but along with the recent years product design style, the original auxiliary material unceasing renewal, has already been unable to adapt the present actual situation in many aspects.

At present, limiting the harmful substances in leather shoes has become a means for the international community to carry out TBT on China's export leather shoes. It is necessary to increase the limit requirements for hazardous substances in China's leather shoes standards, so as to promote the quality improvement of leather shoes industry, better protect consumers' health and safety, eliminate technical barriers, and promote the trade development of leather shoes industry.

The newly revised "leather shoes" standard stipulates the terminology, definition, classification, requirements, test methods, inspection items and results determination, inspection rules and marking, packaging, pportation and storage of all kinds of craft shoes, and the limit requirements for the two harmful substances that can decompose harmful aromatic amine fuel, dissociated or partially hydrolyzed formaldehyde.

The standard applies to natural leather, artificial materials and other general leather shoes (including boots).

Wenzhou is known as the "shoes capital of China".

Industry occupies an important position in China.

The Wenzhou quality inspection institute has made full use of the advantages of the "national footwear quality supervision and inspection center", "the national footwear Committee, leather shoes sub committee", "the national inspection committee footwear working group", "the national footwear Certification Committee's physical mechanical performance working group" and other state-level professional platforms, and gathered the strength of Wenzhou leather shoes manufacturing enterprises, committed to the construction of the standard system of leather shoes in China, and mastered the right to speak of leather shoes manufacturing standards, so that Wenzhou's leather shoes standard technology has been at the forefront of the whole country.

In order to effectively cope with international trade technical barriers and enhance the international competitiveness of leather shoes export enterprises, the Wenzhou Municipal Quality Inspection Institute has also participated in the drafting of three international ISO standards, such as bending resistance, folding resistance and abrasion resistance of shoes, and striving for the right to speak Chinese leather shoes in the international arena.
