Back in 2000, the investment in the entire textile industry accounted for 0.94% of the whole society and 2.06% in 2014, so the textile industry played an important role in promoting the development of the national economy.

In the whole external environment, we must first look at the evolution of the international consumer market. The 4 main markets account for 56% of our textile and clothing exports. In fact, the growth rate in the developing countries is faster than those in these developed countries. This is the first trend.

Second, we are now concerned about the changes in the pattern of international trade. In this context, we look at the general election of the United States. The US general election is a very important topic around the TPP. We have all noticed that there are two candidates for the Democratic Party in the United States, one is Hilary and another is the other. Another has clearly opposed TPP, and Obama hopes Hilary will support TPP. Hilary has no definite position.

In any case, Japan now has an important change in its attitude towards TPP, and the United States and Japan have come to a standstill on the issue of TPP.
