Anti-Dumping

In June 9, 2008, when the Italy Footwear Association (ANCI) held its annual meeting in Milan, Al Theo Lee, chairman of the association, said that the total volume of footwear products imported from China (+16%) and Vietnam (+14.7%) in 2007 still maintained a two digit growth rate. However, compared with 2006, the footwear products of the association of footwear industry (ANCI) decreased by 16.5% and 9% respectively, indicating that the EU anti-dumping measures are effective. Al Theo Lee said that China's dumping is not only social, environmental, but also trade and currency. The European footwear Federation has decided to extend to the European Union the extension of anti-dumping measures on leather shoes in China and Vietnam to 5 years. At present, Italy Footwear Association is collecting information and opinions among member enterprises to prepare for application for reexamination.
