Yemen And Malaysia Strengthen Economic And Trade Cooperation In Leather Industry

Yemen's official news agency, Hodeidah, on May 28th, Malaysia's ambassador to Yemen, AbdulSamadOthman, met with the chairman of the Hodeidah chamber of Commerce and industry. The two sides discussed the economic and trade cooperation and investment prospects of the two countries.

Ambassador Othman said that Malaysia will increase imports from Yemen, encourage bilateral trade and promote Malaysia enterprises to invest in Yemen.

The two sides agreed that they will continue to raise the level of economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.

Yemen's exports to Malaysia were mainly marine fish and leather. In 2008 1-4, they exported 127 tons of marine fish to Western Asia, valued at about 124 thousand dollars, and exported 151 tons of leather, valued at about 160 thousand dollars.
