India Garment Enterprises Develop Vietnam Market

Members of the India Clothing Export Promotion Council (AEPC), representatives of India clothing and textile trading company, met with senior officials of Vietnamese companies in Hu Zhiming City, aiming at developing new trade and investment opportunities.


AEPC President Premal Udani said that the purpose of the delegation of India is to understand Vietnamese clothing production.

Industry productivity, production facilities, and the labor policy and incentive mechanism formulated by the Vietnamese government for the garment industry.


He added that the delegation's visit to Vietnam could lead to dialogue and cooperation between the two sides, including a joint venture.

He said AEPC is preparing to make an exchange plan to allow Vietnamese students to attend courses offered by the India Institute of clothing management.


Mr. Udani added that the committee was also prepared to pass quality control technology, production technology,

commodity

Management, computer pattern production and other training programs to help Vietnam textile and Apparel Association (VITAS) train its employees.


VITAS, director of external affairs Pham Gia Hung, said Vietnam has 3710 textile and garment enterprises, of which 70% produce clothing.

Vietnam's weaving, spinning and dyeing enterprises are not strong enough, he added.


He said that Vietnam promotes the localization rate, and Vietnam will increase investment and promote raw material production in the current five year development plan (to 2015).
