India Leather Industry Expects To Export US $7 Billion In 2010.

India leather industry is planning to increase its export volume to three times in the next five years.

According to the India leather industry 2010 vision plan, the annual export volume of India leather industry will jump from the current US $2 billion 400 million to US $7 billion.

A few days ago, at the fourteenth New Delhi International Leather Fair, leather traders were optimistic about India's leather blowout growth. At present, India's leather industry exports account for 3% of the global market, of which 63% products are exported to Europe, while the products exported to the United States account for only 12% of the total exports.

According to RafeequeAhmed, chairman of India leather export Committee, at present, the main competitors of India leather industry are manufacturers from China. They have more complete technology and production conditions for large-scale processing of leather products.
