　　1979年珠海正式建市，在上世纪70年代后期至80年代初期，因毗邻香港、澳门，与珠江三角洲周边其它许多地区一样，那些从香港、澳门带回来的多姿多彩的服装、鞋、帽、袜，令人大开眼界，令珠海获得了港、澳服装时尚的直接启蒙，作为我国最早设立的经济特区之一，1978年，澳门商人曹光彪首开对大陆直接投资的先河，与珠海签订了珠海第一家外商投资的毛纺(服装)企业——香洲毛纺厂项目，1979年1月，香洲毛纺厂成立，1979年11月7日，香洲毛纺厂建成投产，主要生产纯羊毛衫和羊兔毛混纺纱，不仅是珠海市最早以补偿贸易形式引进外资兴建的来料加工企业，也是我国第一家“三来一补”外资企业，1984年，小平同志亲临该厂视察，对该厂大胆改革给予了高度评价。
