100 years ago, the revolution of 1911 broke China's feudal autocratic system for more than 2000 years. At the same time, it broke the Chinese clothing culture that lasted for thousands of years.

From that time on, there are five buttons, four buttons and two pockets.

Chinese tunic suit

It became popular.

Some people have always thought that Sun Zhongshan was the inventor of the Chinese tunic suit.

However, at the seminar on "national costume" held at Donghua University recently, several professors of clothing history in the school believe that Sun Zhongshan has put forward the design concept of "Zhongshan suit", but no one has made any conclusion as to who designed it.

Bao Mingxin is a professor and director of the art design department of the clothing College of Donghua University. He has been engaged in the research of the history of clothing for a long time. He said, "Sun Zhongshan is not a designer, nor a tailor, but because Sun Zhongshan is often dressed, it is called the Chinese tunic suit. In fact, he is not the inventor of the" Zhongshan Costume "that people have said.

There are several versions of the invention of the Chinese tunic suit: first, Shanghai was famous at that time.

Tailor's

"Rong Changxiang" is also said to come from Japanese designers. There is also a saying that Sun Zhongshan once recommended a Guangdong tailor Huang Long Sheng, who specializes in western style clothes.

Bao Mingxin said that although Sun Zhongshan was not the designer of the Chinese tunic suit, he had always been an advocate of the Chinese tunic suit. The appearance of the Chinese and Western hybrid costume represented a progress in China.

After the revolution of 1911, people advocated freedom, equality, democracy and opposition to privileges. They especially opposed the use of institutional clothing to distinguish poverty from wealth.

The Chinese tunic suit embodies the characteristics of this era.

Bian Xiangyang, Professor of clothing College of Donghua University, thinks that "clothing at any time is a microcosm and concrete manifestation of many social elements."

In the period of the Republic of China

The new suit represented by the Chinese tunic suit is a mixture of Chinese dress tradition and Western fashion.

"It is more practical. Compared with the three piece suit, the Chinese tunic suit has a good shade, no special requirements for shirts, and no tie, so it is more warm than a suit.

Therefore, they are very popular.
