Brazil's Ministry of development, industry and foreign trade announced on the 5 day that it would increase anti-dumping duties on three kinds of Chinese products, such as spectacle frames, bicycle crank links and bicycle tires.

In the next 5 years, Brazil will impose a weight - based anti-dumping duty on China's spectacle shelves. Brazil importers will buy China's spectacle frames with a single price of less than $10, and will be subject to an additional tariff of $270.56 / kg.

In addition, the additional duty of bicycle crankshaft connecting rod imported from China is US $1.56 / kg, and the additional duty of bicycle tires is US $1.45 / kg, which is valid until December 18, 2008.

Fernando Magara, head of the Trade Protection Bureau of the Ministry of development, industry and foreign trade in Brazil, said that with the increasing number of goods from China, more and more requests for Chinese products were being investigated.

But he believes that despite the implementation of anti-dumping measures, bilateral trade between Brazil and China will not be greatly affected.

In addition, Brazil also announced tariffs on polycarbonate resins, indigo dyes and pre sensitized aluminum plates on the same day. Pre sensitized aluminum plates are related to China, and China's products exported to Brazil are subject to a tariff of $10.76 per kilogram.
