Nantong'S Clothing Exports Increase Substantially

In 2010,

Nantong

region

Clothing export

Large scale

increase

According to the statistics of Nantong inspection and Quarantine Bureau, last year, the total number of export garments was 91 thousand and 800 batches, 386 million pieces (sets), and the value of goods was 2 billion 51 million US dollars, up 21.99%, 18.89% and 21.07%, respectively.

Last year, the city's clothing was mainly exported to Japan, the United States, the European Union, Australia, Canada and other countries and Hongkong.

Among them, clothing exported by general trade accounted for 71% of its total exports.

It is understood that clothing exports are still facing many challenges.

On the one hand, there is a big uncertainty in the prospects of world economic recovery. In developed countries, the demand for high-end clothing is weakened, and the consumption structure is tilting to the middle and low levels. On the other hand, the cost of production factors such as labor force, raw materials and auxiliary materials continues to rise, and the traditional and comparative advantages of the garment industry gradually weaken.
