Textile Enterprises Downstream Cotton Prices

In the near future

Rising, Zhao Yumin, director of the international marketing department of the Ministry of Commerce and international trade and economic cooperation, said that China's cotton price will continue to run for a long time due to factors such as supply and demand, land value and other factors.

The 22 China ASEAN textile trade cooperation conference was held in Nanning, Guangxi, which is also one of the important activities of the seventh China ASEAN Expo.

This workshop will be organized by the China Federation of Commerce and Industry Textiles and clothing association, Nanning International Convention and Exhibition Center, and Guangdong household.

Industry associations jointly organized a number of participating entrepreneurs to help ASEAN business opportunities to resist the chill of cotton prices.

Zhao Yumin believes that agricultural products are greatly affected by climate. The reduction of natural disasters is one of the main reasons for the rising prices of cotton and other agricultural products.

China's economic recovery is good, and the textile industry has a strong cotton industry.

Strong demand

With the advent of winter, the demand for textiles is also an important reason for maintaining high cotton prices.

Cotton prices in Zhengzhou's cotton futures market in recent days are even higher.

The cotton price in October 21st has also lifted the impact of China's unexpected increase in interest rates to the highest level in history. The main 1105 contract (May 2011 cotton) rose 915 yuan, at 24995 yuan per ton, or 3.8%.

Far from 1109, the contract closed at a price limit of 25020 yuan per ton.

International cotton prices have also soared in the near future.

The international cotton futures price of the US Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) hit a record high of 140 years on Friday. The ICE cotton December contract hit 1.198 dollars per pound, the highest price since the American Civil War.

Wan Jun, an Associate Research Fellow of the Institute of world economics and politics of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, said that China is indeed a big cotton consuming country. However, the rise of international cotton prices is due to the loose monetary policy of the whole world and the weakness of the US dollar and the speculation of idle funds. It is obviously unreasonable to attribute the rise in cotton prices to China's demand.

China has taken various measures to slow down the impact of high cotton prices on economic development and people's lives.

In August 10th, the China reserve cotton Management Corporation (Central Cotton store) issued a notice to put 600 thousand tons of state reserve cotton.

Shortly afterwards, China Cotton store again sold 400 thousand tons of state reserve cotton to ease the tight supply in the spot market.

In October 20th alone, the state reserve cotton sold 30435 tons of reserve cotton through competitive pactions, all of which were sold.

The cotton harvest of Xinjiang, Anhui, Jiangxi and other major cotton producing areas has begun. Experts expect that the new cotton listing will alleviate the shortage of cotton to a certain extent. However, the impact of the new cotton listing on cotton prices will be difficult to emerge due to the influence of cotton farmers' reluctant selling mentality in the rising cotton prices.

Xiao Jiancheng, Executive Deputy Secretary General of the Guangdong Household Textile Industry Association, who participated in the China ASEAN home textile trade cooperation association, said that the rise in cotton prices, the rise in labor prices and the appreciation of the RMB exchange rate have already caused tremendous pressure on the downstream textile industry.

But textiles, as consumables for manufacturing, are different from houses. It is difficult for textile manufacturers to pass on the rise of costs to consumers.

He suggested that enterprises should get rid of the traditional simple processing mode of earning low end profits, divide the division of labor, strengthen cooperation, take the road of brand, and benefit from high added value such as logistics, design and deep processing, so as to open up overseas markets, including the 10 ASEAN countries.

From 19 to 24 October, the seventh China ASEAN Expo held in Nanning, Guangxi, attracted many exhibitors from China, ASEAN 10 countries, Japan, Australia and France, with 4600 exhibitors.
