What does the experts think about the lack of local designers? How can this embarrassment be properly solved? In response to these problems, the Jinjiang Economic Daily reporter recently interviewed Huang Shaoqing, director of footwear design at the school of art, Quanzhou Normal University.


Jinjiang Economic Daily: the vast majority of shoemaking enterprises in Jinjiang are calling for the lack of relevant design talents. What do you think is the root cause of this situation?


Huang Shaoqing: the fundamental reason is the concept of entrepreneurs. In the past two years, most of the production models of enterprises are modeled on other well-known brands. With the further development of enterprises, they must take the road of branding, so that the requirements for design are enhanced. Take the sole as an example, do not look at the sole of the shoe, but the knowledge is very large. Apart from the function of different materials, the design of sole sole is also very particular. I once saw a sports shoe soles on the market. These shoes had a circular design on the sole of the feet. The purpose of the design was to increase friction and facilitate the rotation of the feet of the consumers. However, the shoes made the inside of the disc hollow, and the location was not selected at the point where the palm of the foot was at the focal point. This design would be meaningless and not in line with science. In the past, entrepreneurs did not pay attention to this piece, so there was a lack of awareness of the cultivation of talents. Now, with the further development of economy, the demand for talent has become a problem quickly placed before entrepreneurs. At present, a large number of managers of large enterprises have already realized this problem, but many small and medium enterprises have not yet realized this.


Jinjiang Economic Daily: do you think there is a better solution to this problem?


Huang Shaoqing: fundamentally, the local government should begin to attach importance to the cultivation of this local talent. For example, the Light Industry Institute of Jinjiang can set up a shoe design specialty like our school. If we want to solve the current problem, we can take the lead of the government, trade associations or the media to organize some key training for shoe manufacturers. Through short-term assault training, improve the design level and concept of enterprise interior designers. In addition, because most of the enterprises in Jinjiang are family like, they can consider selecting members of the family to specialize in the design, so that the creativity inside the enterprise is guaranteed.
