It is reported that in 1953, magician John Muhe Landau compiled the manual for the CIA, and the CIA paid him $3000.

The handbook includes how to use deception, such as how to use cigarette smoke to distract the attention of the other person, to put pills into the drink, how to put small things into pockets and use shoelaces as a means of communication.

In 1970s, the CIA ordered the manual to be destroyed, but one of them survived.

Now these contents have been declassified, and the manual has been republished. It is called the CIA trick and deception manual.
