(EPA) in May 2010, the company issued a ticket to several manufacturers claiming that their products had insect resistant and antibacterial functions without prior approval from the EPD.


The EPA specifically states that products that claim to eradicate or prevent bacteria or bacteria are identified as pesticides and must be registered with EPD before distribution or sale.


EPA points out that these products use silver based antibacterial chemicals controlled by EPD lists to prevent deterioration. These products have not been tested or registered to prevent bacteria, mildew or mildew.

The EPA specifically appealed to consumers to take a closer look at the EPD registration number printed on the product label and follow the label instructions to use the product.
