The 9 teams in the world cup this summer will wear shirts made of recycled plastic bottles.

These jerseys will be made by Nike, wearing teams from Brazil, Portugal, Holland, the United States, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, Serbia and Slovenia.

Fans who support these teams can buy family versions of shirts made of the same material since May 1st.

The price of the Jersey is about 76 dollars, which is almost the same as that of the non recycled shirt.

Nike said that each shirt needs 8 recycled plastic bottles, mainly from Japan and Taiwan, and then processed into fabrics after melting.

Nike said that using recycled plastic bottles to make jerseys can reduce the energy consumption by 30% compared with the newly made polyester fibers.
